North end of Granville Bridge reopens on Monday ; priority for transit into downtown

This new section is designed to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion. The project, which began in 2019, has been a long and complex process, involving extensive planning, engineering, and construction. It has been a collaborative effort between the City of Vancouver and the Province of British Columbia. The project has faced challenges, including delays due to weather and unforeseen geological conditions.

The project aims to address the lack of safe and convenient pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure in the city. This is particularly important in areas with high pedestrian and bicycle traffic, such as downtown, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Research Triangle Park. The project will create a 1.5-mile-long, two-way, separated bike path. This path will connect the Research Triangle Park to downtown Chapel Hill.

m. to 6 a.m. during the construction period. This bridge project is expected to last for approximately 18 months. The project will involve a complete overhaul of the bridge, including structural repairs, painting, and other necessary maintenance. The bridge will be closed to all traffic during the entire construction period. The project is expected to cost approximately $10 million.

The bridge is now a vital link between Vancouver’s downtown core and the West End, carrying over 100,000 vehicles daily. It’s a significant historical landmark, and its unique design has made it a popular tourist attraction. ## Traffic and Transit Updates
