The event has raised more than £1 million for local charities since its inception. This impressive figure is a testament to the dedication and passion of the cycling community in Bracknell. The event is open to family groups and cycling clubs, with participants able to choose from three different route options: 15, 34, and 52 miles.
| Route Options | Distance (miles) |
|---|---|
| 15-mile route | 15 |
| 34-mile route | 34 |
| 52-mile route | 52 |
The event is flagged off by the newly elected Mayor of Bracknell, Councillor Ellen Mac Hale, who has chosen ABC to Read as her charity of the year. This partnership is a great way to promote the values of cycling and community engagement, and we wish Councillor Mac Hale and ABC to Read all the best for their charity work. The event is open to participants of all ages, with under 18s able to ride for just £1. This makes it an ideal event for families and young cyclists. Over 18s can register for £20, or pay £25 on the day. The event will take place on Sunday, June 8, and will start and finish at Garth Hill College, Bracknell. Friendly marshals and drink stations will be available on the longer routes to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride. After the ride, participants can head to Bond Square next to the Lexicon to enjoy the second Bracknell Cycle Festival. This festival will run from 11am to 4pm and will feature a range of activities, including:
- BMX stunt displays
- Obstacle course
- Short guided cycle ride
- Cycling and community stalls
- Refreshments

“The event is so much more than just a ride. It’s an opportunity to get out into the great outdoors, explore new places, and meet new people. I’ve seen so many smiles and enjoyed the camaraderie among cyclists.” – Brian Bell, Cycling UK
